【摘要】:Thistestisasensitivemeasureofthedegradationofcelluloseresultingfromtheactionofheat,light,acids,alkalies,oxidizingandreducingagents,andthelike,usedinitsprocessingorpurification.Theintrinsicviscosityvaluemaybeconvertedtodegreeofpolymerization(DP)ortointrinsicfluidity,ifdesired.SolutionsofcellulosearenotNewtonianliquids;thatis,theirviscositydependsupontherate-of-shearorvelocitygradientduringmeasurement.Thiseffectissmallerforsamplesoflowmolecularmass(DP)andatlowconcentrationsthanforhigh-DPsamplesandathighconcentrations.Forthecellulosesandconcentrationsincludedwithinthelimitssetforthinthistestmethod,theeffectofrate-of-shearisassumedtobenegligibleforrefereepurposes.Forotherconditionsandforresearchpurposesthisassumptionmaybeinvalid,buttodiscusswaysofaccountingforthiseffectisbeyondthescopeofthepresenttestmethod.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheintrinsicviscosityofpurifiedcellulosessuchasbleachedwoodpulps,cottonlinters,andregeneratedcellulose.Itisapplicabletoallcellulosesampleswithanintrinsicviscosityof15dl/gorless.Mostnative(unpurified)celluloseshaveintrinsicviscosityvaluestoohighformeasurementbythistestmethod.Note1-TheuseofcuprammoniumhydroxidesolutionforregularviscositydeterminationisdescribedinMethodT206m-55oftheTechnicalAssociationofPulpandPaperIndustryon"CuprammoniumDisperseViscosityofPulp,"andJointArmy-NavySpecificationsJAN-C-206.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
