【摘要】:Manypetroleumproducts,andsomenon-petroleummaterials,areusedaslubricants,andthecorrectoperationoftheequipmentdependsupontheappropriateviscosityoftheliquidbeingused.Inaddition,theviscosityofmanypetroleumfuelsisimportantfortheestimationofoptimumstorage,handling,andoperationalconditions.Thus,theaccuratedeterminationofviscosityisessentialtomanyproductspecifications.1.1Thistestmethodspecifiesaprocedureforthedeterminationofthekinematicviscosity,x03BD;,ofliquidpetroleumproducts,bothtransparentandopaque,bymeasuringthetimeforavolumeofliquidtoflowundergravitythroughacalibratedglasscapillaryviscometer.Thedynamicviscosity,x03B7;,canbeobtainedbymultiplyingthekinematicviscosity,x03BD;,bythedensity,x03C1;,oftheliquid.Note18212;Forthemeasurementofthekinematicviscosityandviscosityofbitumens,seealsoTestMethodsD2170andD2171.Note28212;ISO3104correspondstoTestMethodD445.1.2Theresultobtainedfromthistestmethodisdependentuponthebehaviorofthesampleandisintendedforapplicationtoliquidsforwhichprimarilytheshearstressandshearratesareproportional(Newtonianflowbehavior).If,however,theviscosityvariessignificantlywiththerateofshear,differentresultsmaybeobtainedfromviscometersofdifferentcapillarydiameters.Theprocedureandprecisionvaluesforresidualfueloils,whichundersomeconditionsexhibitnon-Newtonianbehavior,havebeenincluded.1.3Therangeofkinematicviscositiescoveredbythistestmethodisfrom0.2to300000mm2/s(seeTableA1.1)atalltemperatures(see6.3and6.4).Theprecisionhasonlybeendeterminedforthosematerials,kinematicviscosityrangesandtemperaturesasshowninthefootnotestotheprecisionsection.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.TheSIunitusedinthistestmethodforkinematicviscosityismm2/s,andtheSIunitusedinthistestmethodfordynamicviscosityismPax00B7;s.Foruserreference,1mm2/s=10-6m2/s=1cStand1mPax00B7;s=1cP=0.001Pax00B7;s.1.5WARNINGMercuryhasbeendesignatedbymanyregulatoryagenciesasahazardousmaterialthatcancausecentralnervoussystem,kidneyandliverdamage.Mercury,oritsvapor,maybehazardoustohealthandcorrosivetomaterials.Cautionshouldbetakenwhenhandlingmercuryandmercurycontainingproducts.SeetheapplicableproductMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)fordetailsandEPAx2019;swebsitehttp://www.epa.gov/mercury/faq.htmforadditionalinformation.Usersshouldbeawarethatsellingmercuryand/ormercurycontainingproductsintoyourstateorcountrymaybeprohibitedbylaw.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
