【摘要】:ThistestmethodcoverstheprocedurefordeterminingtheconcentrationofdyeSolventRed164incommerciallyavailabledieselandburnerfuelsusingvisiblespectroscopy.Note1ThistestmethodissuitableforallNo.1andNo.2gradesinSpecificationsD396andD975andforgradesDMAandDMBinSpecificationD2069.TheconcentrationrangesspecifiedforthecalibrationstandardsareestablishedinresponsetotheInternalRevenueServicedyeingrequirementswhichstatethattax-exemptdieselfuelsatisfiesthedyeingrequirementonlyifitcontainsthedyeSolventRed164(andnootherdye)ataconcentrationspectrallyequivalentto3.9lbofthesoliddyestandardSolventRed26perthousandbbl(11.1mg/L)ofdieselfuel.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
